Kathy Griffin photographer stands by beheaded Trump shoot

The photographer who snapped a gory photo of Kathy Griffin holding a prop meant to look like President Trump’s decapitated head is making no apologies.

“If you make art, you gotta stand by it,” Tyler Shields says in a video posted on TMZ on Thursday.

“Can’t censor myself, man,” Shields adds when asked about the fallout from the stunt, while loading groceries into his car at a Los Angeles supermarket.

Shields’s response was in stark contrast to Griffin. Hours after the image was posted on TMZ on Tuesday — and amid a tidal wave of outrage from everyone from former first daughter Chelsea Clinton to former GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney — Griffin released an apology message, saying she “went too far.”

“I beg for your forgiveness,” Griffin said.

Trump called the mock-beheading photo “sick,” saying Griffin “should be ashamed of herself.” His wife, first lady Melania Trump, dubbed the photograph “disturbing” and questioned Griffin’s “mental health.”

Thirty-five-year-old Shields, known for producing shock-inducing images, gave a thumbs up as he got in his Range Rover after loading his grocery bags in the trunk.

“I’m just going to go home and eat my ice cream and hide out,” he said.
