SXSW adds Ocasio-Cortez to 2019 speaker lineup
Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has reportedly been added to the speaker lineup for South by Southwest’s (SXSW) 2019 conference.
The organizers behind the conference announced that the progressive congresswoman, as well as actress Olivia Wilde and Endeavor CMO Bozoma Saint John, have all signed on as speakers for the March event, The Hollywood Reporter reported on Tuesday.
{mosads}”Each of the keynote speakers announced today reflect bold and innovative talent transforming their respective industries,” chief programming officer Hugh Forrest said of the roster of speakers.
“The breadth and diversity of the Featured Speakers make the 2019 event an even stronger and more compelling place for creatives, innovators and storytellers alike,” he continued.
Other figures set to appear include rapper A$AP Rocky, journalist Jill Abramson, BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti and Pamela Adlon, the creator of “Better Things.”
The SXSW conference is a conglomerate of film, music and media events that take place in Austin, Texas. This year’s conference is scheduled to take place from March 8 to 17.
