Marc Anthony defends Puerto Rico from ‘gruesome’ Trump
Puerto Rican pop star Marc Anthony is pushing back against President Trump after he called the island territory “one of the most corrupt places on earth” earlier this week.
“Coming from a gruesome individual like YOU it makes perfect sense. Filled with corruption and incapable of managing a fully staffed HOUSE,” Anthony said in a Wednesday tweet.
Wow Mr. whatever you are. We all just read your DEMENTED tweet about my beloved Puerto Rico. Coming from a gruesome individual like YOU it makes perfect sense. Filled with corruption and incapable of managing a fully staffed HOUSE.

Earlier Wednesday Trump released a series of tweets targeting Puerto Rico as Hurricane Dorian made its way toward the region.
{mosads}“We are tracking closely tropical storm Dorian as it heads, as usual, to Puerto Rico. FEMA and all others are ready, and will do a great job. When they do, let them know it, and give them a big Thank You — Not like last time,” Trump said on Twitter. “That includes from the incompetent Mayor of San Juan!”
“Puerto Rico is one of the most corrupt places on earth. Their political system is broken and their politicians are either Incompetent or Corrupt,” the president tweeted. “Congress approved Billions of Dollars last time, more than anyplace else has ever gotten, and it is sent to Crooked Pols. No good!”
“And by the way, I’m the best thing that’s ever happened to Puerto Rico!” he added.

Trump took sharp criticism for the federal government’s response to the damage done to Puerto Rico by Hurricane Maria in 2017, though Dorian, which on Thursday was headed for the Florida coast, did significantly less damage to the island.
San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz, a longtime critic of the president, slammed Trump’s comments later on Wednesday, accusing him of having a “vanity complex.”
“He thinks everything is about him. He’s a liar and a racist,” she added.
