The Rock goes viral singing ‘Moana’ song to teach daughter how to wash her hands amid coronavirus

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a hit after sharing a shirtless video teaching his youngest daughter how to wash her hands amid coronavirus.

A video the star shared on Instagram has more than 16 million views.

In it, Johnson shows his 2-year-old daughter Tia how to wash her hands for the appropriate amount of time to help stop the spread of the virus.

Johnson, who played the god Maui in Disney’s 2016 animated movie “Moana,” sings the chorus of the song “You’re Welcome” from that film.

“We realized a few weeks ago that the rap portion of the song is perfect timing when getting your little ones to have fun washing their hands,” he wrote in the post. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends at least 20 seconds of hand-washing for best effectiveness.

Johnson has been reaching out to fans with regular Instagram video posts over the past few weeks as social distancing restrictions have meant Americans are isolating in their homes.

“Inevitably, I am fully confident that we will get through this thing, but it’s going to require us, obviously, to band together. This is a global issue. It’s not a foreign virus, we have to take accountability for it because it’s all of our issue,” he told fans in a March 17 post.
