Twitter reacts to Barrett misspeaking about approaching cases with an ‘open wine’: ‘Me too, girl’
Twitter users were amused and empathetic Wednesday after Amy Coney Barrett misspoke during her Supreme Court confirmation hearing, vowing to approach every case with an “open wine.”
During questioning by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, Barrett, President Trump’s third nominee to the high court, attempted to reassure the Rhode Island Democrat that she will be an unbiased judge.
“I will approach every case with an open wine,” she said, before immediately correcting herself. “Open mind.”
While no one in the room acknowledged the blink-and-you-miss-it gaffe, Twitter users turned the comment into a slew of memes and jokes.
“Me too, girl,” one user wrote alongside a video clip of the slip-up.
Me too, girl.

Barrett is three days into her confirmation hearing before the Senate Judiciary Committee. If confirmed, she will take over the vacancy created by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, resulting in a 6-3 conservative majority.
