Harry Potter, Wonder Woman sport masks for CDC ad campaign
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released a video made in partnership with WarnerMedia and the ad council on Wednesday showing various figures from blockbuster movie series, including Harry Potter and Wonder Woman, wearing masks.
The 30-second video, posted on Twitter by a CDC communications official, Ian Sams, includes footage from several movies edited to show actors wearing masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The ad campaign is part of the Biden administration’s effort to promote widespread mask-wearing by Americans to slow the spread of coronavirus.

Among the movies included in the masked-montage are “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2,” “Casablanca,” “Wonder Woman” and “The Joker.”
“When you choose to wear a face mask, you’re helping us get back to doing our favorite things,” the ad council wrote in its own tweet sharing the video.
President Biden has made promoting mask-wearing, something that former President Trump resisted throughout 2020, a central part of his COVID-19 strategy. His administration is reportedly considering mailing face masks directly to millions of Americans.
