NFL’s Dwayne Haskins reportedly injured in domestic violence incident
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins was reportedly injured in a domestic violence incident with his wife, according to Las Vegas CBS station KLAS.
A Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department report obtained by KLAS shows that Haskins’s wife, Kalabrya Gondrezick-Haskins, is accused of punching her husband in the mouth during an altercation at The Cosmopolitan hotel on July 3.
The couple told the police that their altercation stemmed from differing plans for social outings.
The quarterback suffered a split wound on his upper lip, a missing tooth and other injuries around his mouth that would require dental repair. Authorities found his missing tooth as they were searching the room, ESPN reported, citing other reports.
Haskins was later transported to a local medical facility to be treated for his injuries.
Gondrezick-Haskins, 25, told police that they traveled to Las Vegas in celebration of their relationship by renewing their vows. The couple reportedly married in March after dating for a year and a half, KLAS reported.
Haskins, 24, told authorities that the couple did have verbal arguments in the past but that none became physical.
Gondrezick-Haskins, who is the sister of the WNBA’s Indiana Fever guard Kysre Gondrezick, was arrested and is charged with domestic battery.
Haskins, who was a first-round pick in the 2019 NFL draft, was released by the Washington Football Team in 2020 after two seasons with the club. Haskins signed with the Steelers a month later.
The Hill has reached out to the NFL and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department for comment.
