Former child actor’s death ruled suicide
“Our Idiot Brother” actor Matthew Mindler’s death has been ruled a suicide by the Lancaster County, Pa., coroner’s office.
Eric Bieber, chief deputy coroner, told The Hill the death was ruled a suicide with toxicology test results still pending.
Mindler, 19, was found dead on Saturday near Millersville University, where he was a freshman. He was reported missing Thursday after failing to attend class Tuesday.
“Our thoughts of comfort and peace are with his friends and family during this difficult time,” university President Daniel Wubah said in a statement.
Mindler, who was best known for his role in “Our Idiot Brother,” was last seen Tuesday around 8 p.m. when he was walking to a parking lot from his dorm room.
Other credits for the actor include “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver,” “Chad: An American Boy” and “As the World Turns.”
