Original ‘Law & Order’ returning to TV after 11-year hiatus
The original “Law & Order” is set to return to NBC after more than a decade off the air.
“Eleven years since its series finale, the original Law & Order is returning to NBC. Season 21 will continue where the show left off in 2010, with the classic format that explores two separate, yet equally important groups: the police who investigate crimes and the district attorneys who prosecute the offenders,” Wolf Entertainment said in a statement on Tuesday.
The revival series will be executive produced by Dick Wolf, Rick Eid, Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski, the news release said.
The network did not include details about the cast or premiere date for the show, according to The Associated Press.

“There are very few things in life that are literally dreams come true,” show creator Dick Wolf said in a statement. “This is mine.”
“Law & Order” received 50 Emmy nominations during its 20 years on the air and spawned various spinoff series including “Law & Order: SVU” and “Law & Order: Organized Crime.”
When the show was canceled in May 2010, it was tied with “Gunsmoke” for the longest-running television drama series, the AP noted.
