Angle insults Hispanics, O’Donnell attacks the Constitution, Miller goons arrest a reporter, Texas Republicans suppress black and Hispanic voters
Sharron Angle, the professional political candidate and extremist in Nevada, who
has spent much of the last decade running for office as a career politician, has
reached a new low with her insults toward Hispanic voters.
Angle’s recent comments about what Hispanics look like were strange and bizarre,
but they were not even the worst of Angle’s insults, in this case toward Hispanics.
Look at Angle’s television ads about immigration, which portray Hispanics in the
most demeaning manner. This is shameful and inexcusable and these ads should all
be pulled.
Now a Republican group acting for Angle in Nevada ran an ad telling Hispanics not
to vote! This is even more outrageous, insulting and even un-American. Kudos to
those in the television business who are refusing to run this despicable ad.
Meanwhile, in Delaware, Christine O’Donnell is expressing her contempt for the United
States Constitution. She seems to have a problem with the separation of church and
state, and while she tries to escape from her positions, she seems to have trouble
with various amendments to the Constitution.
Some of these extreme right-wing candidates talk about the Constitution, but don’t
even know what is in the Constitution. When their staff is forced to teach them
what is in the Constitution, they don’t seem to support the parts of the Constitution
they don’t like.
On the subject of contempt for the United States Constitution, how about the extremist
Republican candidate in Alaska, Joe Miller, who hires goons to handcuff a reporter
who asks questions?
There is a distemper on the far right wing of the Republican Party. Sharron Angle
insulting Hispanics, a Nevada Republican group telling Hispanic voters not to vote,
Christine O’Donnell’s ignorance of the Constitution and contempt for the separation
of church and state and Joe Miller hiring goons to arrest a reporter are examples
of extremism run amok.
And last but not least there are now attempts by Tea Party Republicans in Texas
to suppress and intimidate black and Hispanic voters, yet one more un-American attack
on American democracy. These attempts at voter suppression by Texas Republicans
should be prosecuted under the law and rejected by voters as violating everything
that America and Texas stand for.
