No leaders

President Obama on “60 Minutes” Sunday offered a series of excuses for
lack of success and new suggestions for lowering our standards.
Republican candidates in their presidential debate Saturday again turned
the GOP contest into a bad-reality television show where candidates
unworthy to be president make statements no president should ever make.
The House and Senate cannot get anything done while favorable ratings
for Congress hover between 9 and 11 percent.

Wall Street firms and banks are back asking for another humongous
bailout, this time in Europe, but it affects American banks and firms as
well. Meanwhile, banks continue to hoard massive amounts of money they
refuse to loan, throw homeowners out of homes in sadistic numbers, pay
themselves massive salaries and bonuses in cash or cheap stock, and
give speeches at investment conferences about moral hazard.

European leaders again dither and slither and again fail to deal seriously with the crisis in Europe, and in fact, impose more joblessness and austerity at a time of slowdown that will make a deep European recession, which will spill around the world, inevitable.

Central bankers in the U.S. and Europe continue their policy mistake of giving free money to the largest banks in ways that never reach the people or help the jobless. Central bankers support the banks, not the economy, and only fuel public resentment and speculation in oil, gold, stocks, high risk bonds and various tradable commodities.

Prime Minister Putin could not even win a majority of votes in a Russian election that was stolen while governments are falling, and protests are rising, throughout the world.

Governments are falling everywhere, as unhappy voters throw them out in elections, and in nations that do not have real elections, chase them out through massive protests.

There is crash of confidence in political and business leaders around the world by the people of the world.

Compared to previous moments in history, there is a lack of leadership everywhere.

I predict that when springtime comes, there will be ever-more-powerful protests and movements for change, in America and throughout the world.

More governments will fall. The big question is what movements and leaders will rise to replace them.
