The war against ObamaCare will lose

In my column this Wednesday, I harshly criticized the holy war being waged against Hillary Clinton, and today we consider the holy war that Republicans and conservatives have waged against ObamaCare and why they will lose this war regardless of how the Supreme Court rules on its upcoming ObamaCare decision.

Here are two reasons why there is a growing fear beneath the surface of Republican and conservative leadership as the Supreme Court prepares to make a momentous decision on ObamaCare.

{mosads}The first reason is that if the court upholds ObamaCare again, it will be a stunning triumph for President Obama and a momentous and permanent victory for ObamaCare that will lead to ObamaCare becoming the political equivalent of Social Security as tens of millions of voters, even including the ubiquitous would-be destroyer of ObamaCare Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), become customers.

The second reason is that if the court overturns ObamaCare subsidies and Republicans and conservatives rejoice, believing they have destroyed the ObamaCare program, they will be met with a tidal wave of news stories about angry Americans losing their health insurance and more angry Americans blaming Republicans and conservatives for the wave of dramatic insurance premium increases they will be forced to endure.

The Hill and other media outlets are correctly reporting on various policies that Republicans and conservatives are “demanding” if the court rules against ObamaCare. Yes indeed, these Republicans are feeling the heat and beginning to panic about what happens if the court rules for them!

If the court overturns ObamaCare provisions, there will be sad and horrible stories about Americans with major disabilities and illnesses who are losing their insurance. From the “Today” show in the morning to the network news at night, and the cable shows 24/7, these sad and horrible stories will be evidence of the cruelty and coldness of Republicans and conservatives.

If the court overturns ObamaCare, there will be tragic and terrible stories about good and decent Americans with preexisting conditions who will find their insurance stripped away by the cruelty and coldness of Republicans and conservatives, who will be rejoicing in their misery.

When the first news story brings tears to the eyes of the nation about a dead former customer of ObamaCare, who lost his or her life because without ObamaCare they lost the treatment that preserved it, voters will see the great truth about the big lie: It was the opponents of ObamaCare who brought the death panels to the healthcare story of American lives.

If the court overturns ObamaCare, there will be tearful stories about 6-year-old boys and 2-year-old girls, and boys and girls of all ages, who lost their insurance coverage they had received through their parent’s policies — and lost lifesaving treatment — and mark my words, some will lose life itself — because of the cruelty of Republicans and conservatives who celebrate their attacks against ObamaCare.

If the court overturns ObamaCare, there will be waves of increases in insurance premiums that will prove another big truth about another big lie from opponents of ObamaCare: that it was ObamaCare that kept premiums lower and opponents of ObamaCare who pushed premiums higher.

I believe that Chief Justice John Roberts and a majority of justices know that what I write here is true, and will uphold ObamaCare by a 5-4 vote, at least, because they do not want to cause the chaos and pain that would inevitably result if they overturn ObamaCare.

The issue if the court overturns ObamaCare will not be the demands that Republicans and conservatives will make, but the demands of voters to remove Republicans and conservatives from office because throughout the course of their long and rancid attacks on ObamaCare, the biggest truth that reveals the biggest lie of all is this:

Republicans never had an alternative.
