The party of millionaires versus the party of millionaires

The whole situation is Kafkaesque and absurd. Americans believe in large numbers that the Bush tax cuts for millionaires should expire, yet they become a holy cause for Republicans, and a new surrender for Democrats.

I am arguing against my own interest here. Trust me, the lower the taxes are against large inheritances, the better it is for me. But there is no excuse for this. What is happening in an economy where so many people are hurting is a disgrace to all concerned.

{mosads}We seem to be in a one-party system where the wealthy and special interests profit every time, no matter who wields the gavel.

I look forward to Democrats being willing to take a stand on principle that, with so many Americans hurting, this is not the moment for maximum tax cuts for millionaires.

I look forward to Republicans who claim to be populists being willing to take a stand against this.

I look forward to Tea Party advocates willing to take take a stand against this, or admit their concern about the deficit is as phony as a $3 bill.
