Fox Business Network goes Tea Party
But, in the real world, it didn’t work out that way. CNBC is stronger than
ever, while the Fox Business Network remains an asterisk in the ratings. And
for one very good reason: When it comes to business news, those in the business
world, even conservatives, just want the straight scoop: what’s going on in
markets around the world, which stocks are up, which are down and why — without
any political commentary mixed in. And they could never trust Fox to deliver it
straight. Not even their business news.
So now Fox has decided it’s not even going to try. This past weekend, it
launched a new libertarian-oriented opinion show — “Freedom Watch” — hosted by
conservative legal commentator Andrew Napolitano — on the Fox Business Network.
His first guests? Ron Paul, Rand Paul and Sarah Palin. Next week’s guest? Glenn
Beck.
And there you have it. The latest from Fox News. Abandoning all pretense of
being “fair and balanced,” they now offer us not one propaganda channel, but
two: The Republican Channel and the Tea Party Channel.
