Fox News merges with RNC
Second, no matter how unqualified, Palin’s clearly not
interested in a television career. Like Mike Huckabee, she’s just camping out
at Fox until she decides what office to run for next. Which is, or should be,
against FCC regulations. Every time she appears on the air, Fox is, in effect,
giving her a campaign contribution.
But the hiring of Sarah Barracuda says more about Fox News
than it does about Palin herself.
Fox managers have now, finally, exposed the network as
nothing more than the media wing of the Republican National Committee: where
any old Republican has-been can get a job, and where endless repetition of RNC
talking points substitutes for real reporting.
Seriously, after hiring contributors Gingrich, Rove and
Huckabee — on top of hosts Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and Glenn Beck — did
they really think they needed Sarah Palin to provide conservative insights?
One thing’s for sure: Fox News has never been, and is now
less than ever, “Fair and Balanced.”
