Hillary, Come Back to Reality

I like the whole Baruch college bunker plan that Hillary Clinton hatched. Truly, to take your supporters and the press hostage two floors below ground without television monitors, cell phone or BlackBerry access in order to wipe out any news of your rival clinching the nomination is pretty clever. Bizarre, actually, but in a fun way. Let’s huddle together in our own reality, one last time — Terry McAuliffe introduces Hillary as the next president of United States! Yay !

Hillary went on to deliver an alternate-universe speech down there, too, as we all know, but concession speeches are downers and this was a victory celebration, after all. I didn’t criticize Clinton for failing to acknowledge Barack Obama’s historic victory on Tuesday night. Why pile on when even her friends were mad over it? I even forgave that insurgent request, asking supporters to go to the website and tell her what to do next, which teased the Denver option, ever so gently.

But revolutions are for Ron Paul; with him, it’s kind of cute. Not so Hillary. After getting the overt push from her own supporters to get out now, Clinton is waiting 48 hours and will give her concession/endorsement. Yet she is refusing to waive her right to have her name placed in nomination at the convention. WOW.
