An Inconvenient Truth

Just when you think the Democrats running for the nation’s highest office have fooled us that they are in touch with America, one of them goes off and does something that proves they are out in left field somewhere. The most recent example? Sen. Barack Obama’s (Ill.) statement that he doesn’t have a problem with sex education being taught to school children — kindergarten school children, that is.

If I’m not mistaken, I started kindergarten when i was 5 years old. Kids that young should be focused on building blocks and kickball, not learning about the birds and the bees. That’s simply too early and too much information to put in a child’s head at 5. I haven’t heard Obama’s explanation as to why 5 years old is not too early, but that’s just too much, too soon.

Stunts such as this will appeal to the far-left element both Obama and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) are catering to in order to secure the nomination for president in their party. The inconvenient truth here, however, is that the far-left mentality will not fly with the general electorate in America — an electorate that does not want its children learning about sex at age 5 in the public schoolhouse.
