Cory Booker bets cookies against 2016 bid
Senator Cory Booker (D-N.J.) joked on Twitter Wednesday afternoon that he would “bet a roll of chocolate chip cookie dough” that he won’t run for president in 2016.
The statement was precipitated when one of his followers tweeted out:
I predict in 2016 @CoryBooker will run for President.

Booker, who personally manages his Twitter account, responded five minutes later:
I bet you a roll of chocolate chip cookie dough I won't! RT @wileyshow I predict in 2016 Cory Booker will run for President.

Booker’s food-related thoughts were likely related to his announcement Wednesday that he would participate in a 24-hour fast with New Jersey colleague Sen. Robert Menendez (D) to support immigration reform. The senator has also expressed his love of cookie dough on previous occasions, once saying that he enjoyed it:
And cookie dough ice cream RT @LeightonDumas: There is goodness within you, Cory Booker.

Though Booker has denied interest in a presidential run before, the former Newark mayor’s popularity and quick rise to national prominence have kept speculation rife.
