House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) took heat from Twitter users who said she was “politicizing Holy Week” by joining a foot-washing ceremony that included two immigrant children.
Pelosi, one of the House’s most vocal advocates for immigration reform, tweeted a photo Thursday of herself holding a pitcher of water and kneeling with an Episcopal bishop in San Francisco.
In the caption she plugged HR-15, an immigration reform bill.
Twitter users pounced on her quickly.
