DC media snarks about Cleveland

The GOP is headed to Cleveland for the 2016 Republican National Convention, but not everyone is happy about it.

Reactions from journalists and other political observers on Twitter ranged from snarky to sarcastic, with plenty of skepticism that the city could accommodate the huge influx of people.

Many remembered the transportation and hotel woes that have plagued other convention cities, including both Tampa and Charlotte in 2012.

Others mocked the city’s recent sports disappointments, especially after Lebron James bolted the Cavaliers for the Miami Heat. James is now a free agent and could actually head back to Cleveland if the price is right, but the city’s woes in basketball, football and baseball were too hard for some to resist.

While Ohio Republicans have been busy promoting the city, highlighting its restaurant scene, prime Lake Erie location and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, journalists suggested they aren’t looking forward to the visit.
