Wire-to-Wire is the new digital tool that brings together the joint online fundraising capabilities of the House Speaker’s reelection campaign, Friends of John Boehner, the National Republican Congressional Committee and 14 Republican congressional campaigns, according to Boehner’s office. The participating members include Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (Wash.), Greg Walden (Ore.), Steve Stivers (Ohio), Robert Dold (Ill.), Sean Duffy (Wis.), Frank Guinta (N.H.), Randy Hultgren (Ill.), Tom Latham (Iowa), Pat Meehan (Penn.), Nan Hayworth (N.Y.), Reid Ribble (Wis.), Jon Runyan (N.J.), Bobby Schilling (Ill.), as well as Andy Barr, a congressional candidate in Kentucky.
Boehner explained the baseball reference in the new committee’s name.
“In 1990, the Cincinnati Reds led the major leagues from Opening Day through their World Series sweep, becoming one of the few teams to ever go ‘wire-to-wire’ in baseball,” he said in a statement. “Statistical analysts have since credited the Reds’ performance in several key areas, including defense, closer quality and pitchers’ strikeout rates, for its success. Similarly, our Wire-to-Wire digital program will focus on data analytics, grassroots mobilization, and strengthening House Republicans’ lead in key areas that drive successful online fundraising and email list building.”
