Sen. Nelson hosts former NBA star

{mosads}Nelson met with former National Basketball Association player Alonzo Mourning to discuss protecting Medicare funding.

Mourning, who played for the Miami Heat, underwent a kidney transplant in 2003 and retired in 2009.

Mourning has worked with the National Kidney Foundation and other groups to warn Congress of the dangers of reducing Medicare funding for kidney patients, particularly those who require dialysis for end-stage renal disease.
