{mosads}The “Argo” director and star is testifying about the Congo at a committee hearing, and took several meetings with members of Congress beforehand.
House Armed Services Committee Chairman Buck McKeon (R-Calif.) tweeted from behind the scenes of the hearing, and the committee’s ranking member Rep. Adam Smith (D-Wash.) and Rep. Blake Farenthold (R-Texas) both shared pictures of their meetings with the star.
Along with being a likely frontrunner for the Oscars next year, Affleck is a humanitarian who founded the Eastern Congo Initiative. He has testified before Congress several times on the crisis in the Congo.
