Rep. Neugebauer ‘not recommending any weight loss systems’

Hackers have done more damage than sending one spam tweet in the past after gaining access to a member of Congress’s account.

When Rep. Bill Johnson’s (R-Ohio) account was taken over in July 2011, his profile picture was changed to a graphic image.

Sen. Chuck Grassley’s (R-Iowa) account was hacked in January of last year by an opponent of anti-piracy legislation who sent several unauthorized tweets while the senator was reportedly stuck on an airplane.

Of course, former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), who claimed his Twitter account had been hacked in 2011 after a lewd picture was posted, later admitted the excuse was a lie.
