{mosads}The private lunch event was held at the J.W. Marriott hotel in downtown Washington, and hosted by Virginia philanthropist Catherine Reynolds and Marriott International Chairman Bill Marriott Jr. Romney joined the board of Marriott International in December.
According to the Boston Globe, Ed Gillespie, a senior campaign adviser; Ryan’s wife, Janna; and Romney’s older brother, Scott Romney, also attended, among others. Romney avoided the media for the event.
Romney, who did not attend President Obama’s inauguration, was last in Washington in late November, when he visited the White House.
CNN reported that the Romneys will also attend the black-tie Alfalfa Dinner on Saturday.
