GOP senator: ‘Please don’t take self defense advice’ from Biden
{mosads}Burr’s tweet is in response to comments Biden made in an interview in Field & Stream magazine. In that interview Biden recounted how he told someone that a shotgun is better for protection than an automatic weapon.
“I did one of these town-hall meetings on the Internet and one guy said, “Well, what happens when the end days come? What happens when there’s the earthquake? I live in California, and I have to protect myself,” Biden said in the interview. “I said, ‘Well, you know, my shotgun will do better for you than your AR-15, because you want to keep someone away from your house, just fire the shotgun through the door.’ ”
Burr disagreed.
Please don’t take self defense advice from @joebiden. Firing a gun thru a door is irresponsible, dangerous, & illegal bit.ly/13owoQ4

Biden’s interview with Field & Stream focused on gun safety and possible new gun control laws.
The Obama administration and a number of legislators have called for federal action on gun violence in response to a shooting massacre in December at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., that resulted in 27 dead. President Obama has called for a reinstitution of the federal assault weapons ban that expired in 2004.
