Weiner accidentally posted one such message publicly in 2011; after initially denying having done so, the congressman admitted to having “exchanged messages and photos of an explicit nature with about six women over the last three years” and resigned from office.
Weiner had mostly avoided posting to that account since the scandal broke, with the notable exception of a video highlighting the victims of Hurricane Sandy. On Monday, Weiner tweeted from that account to point supporters toward his new handle.
