Michelle Obama initially joined Twitter under her personal name in January 2012, in an account created by the Obama campaign. In January of this year, her office set up an official handle — @FLOTUS — for her White House duties.
Joe Biden joined Twitter in July 2011; President Obama announced he would begin personally tweeting from his account a month earlier.
