Obama campaign announces ‘Tweet for Jobs’

President Obamas campaign is adding another social media tool to pressure Congress to act on his jobs bill.

On Tuesday, the campaign is launching Tweet for Jobs, a tool that allows users to find their legislators and tweet directly to lawmakers their support for Obamas $447 billion jobs package.

{mosads}President Obama is calling on members of Congress to pass his plan to create jobs and strengthen the economy, the American Jobs Act — and you can help him urge your legislators to pass it, the new site reads.

Use our tool to tweet your Republican lawmakers about why you support the Presidents plan and why they should, too.

Users who dont live in Republican districts are offered a chance to tweet House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) instead.

We cant find any Republican legislators from your area who are on Twitter, but you can tweet Speaker of the House John Boehner, the site tells supporters in blue districts.

After finding their location and selecting a lawmaker to tweet, users are given the option of three tweets to send:

Will you stand with @BarackObama and vote to pass the American Jobs Act? #passthebill

Im one of your constituents, and Im urging you to pass the American Jobs Act now to strengthen our economy. #passthebill”

Vote for jobs, schools, and small businesses — vote for the American Jobs Act. #passthebill”

This isnt the first instance of the Obama campaign trying to tap into support on the social networking site. Last month, the campaign promoted a new pro-Obama website, AttackWatch.com, with the hashtag #AttackWatch.

But that move backfired when conservatives started promoting criticism of the president using the hashtag.
