Actor Kevin Spacey joked Wednesday his fictional “House of Cards” character is sending a guidebook to help President Obama better influence Congress.
Before a meeting with a group of technology CEOs on Tuesday, Obama joked that he wished things were as “ruthlessly efficient” in Washington as they are on the Netflix series, which has been adapted from its British original.
{mosads}“It’s true. I was looking at Kevin Spacey, I was thinking man, this guy’s getting a lot of stuff done,” Obama said.
Spacey plays the character Frank Underwood, a ruthless and power-hungry House majority whip, in the Washington, D.C., drama.
Obama asked Netflix CEO Reed Hastings, who attended the meeting Tuesday, whether he had brought advanced copies of Season Two of the series, which premiers on Valentine’s Day. Hastings invited Obama to do a cameo on the show.
Spacey, playing Underwood, also participated in a spoof of the show during the White House Correspondents’ dinner earlier this year where he told the audience he hoped “some of you are taking notes.”
