Google co-founder writes that piracy bill could limit free speech
Brin and several other major entrepreneurs signed a letter against the legislation.
The letter, which included signatures from big names like Mozilla Firefox, Yahoo! and Twitter, argued that these acts could hinder “the creation of content and free expression online.”
“We urge Congress to think hard before changing the regulation that underpins the Internet. Let’s not deny the next generation of entrepreneurs and founders the same opportunities that we all had,” the letter states.
The House Judiciary Committee should vote on the Stop Online Privacy Act on Thursday.
