On Twitter, Bush family celebrates win in Texas
The Bush family celebrated George P. Bush’s primary victory for Texas land commissioner Tuesday night.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R), the father of the younger Bush, said he was proud of his son early Wednesday morning after his win.

{mosads}With 99 percent of the precincts reporting in Tuesday’s primary, Bush easily outmatched his primary opponent with 73 percent of the vote. In the heavily Republican state, he is expected to win the general election for the statewide office, which could serve as a ladder to higher office. No Democrat has held a statewide office in Texas for two decades.
His win in the general election could continue the streak of the Bush family in public office. No Bush has served since 2008, but prior to that, at least one member of the family had held elected office since 1981.
Former President George H.W. Bush also congratulated his grandson’s victory Tuesday night.
We couldn’t be prouder of @georgepbush tonight. A good man and hard worker, he’ll do a great job if elected the next TX Land Commissioner.
