GOP feasting on chicken for ‘Chick-fil-A Day’
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) tweeted a picture of a spread of the fast-food chain’s famous sandwiches that served as lunch for his Washington office staff.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) shared his “usual order” with followers, but also tweeted that he had Chick-fil-A for breakfast.
Had
@chickfila for breakfast today but my usual order is the #1 combo with slaw and a Coke Zero. Can’t beat it. on.fb.me/fTh27G— Lindsey Graham (@GrahamBlog) August 1, 2012
Rep. Robert Aderholt (R-Ala.) also tweeted a snapshot of a small feast he and his office staff were set to consume.

Rep. Diane Black (R-Tenn.) also tweeted that she brought sandwiches to a congressional Bible study, offering a photo as proof.

Former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.) and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee launched the conservative effort to rally around Chick-fil-A following a boycott by gay-marriage groups in the wake of the chain’s CEO, Dan Cathy, declaring that he and the company were “guilty as charged” for supporting the “traditional family.”
Santorum and Huckabee led the way, but Twitter on Wednesday was full of photos from various Chick-fil-A restaurants doing a booming business, and “Chick-fil-A” was trending nationwide. Republicans had already turned to Twitter to make their support clear during the previous week.
Democrats have mostly stayed mum on the topic, but last Friday Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) tweeted that she “[preferred] Kentucky Fried Chicken,” turning her tweet into a direct jab at Chick-fil-A with a hashtag.
For the record, I prefer Kentucky Fried Chicken.
