Lawmakers planned to vote on the bill Friday in a second special session called by Gov. Rick Perry (R) to pass the law.
{mosads}Last month, state Sen. Wendy Davis (D) held up a vote on the bill with a 13-hour filibuster that won national attention.
Reports out of Austin say crowds have flooded the statehouse to support or protest the bill, which would implement some of the strictest anti-abortion regulations in the country. The legislation is likely to pass the Republican-led Senate and be signed into law by Perry.
Texas Capitol security confiscating pads, condoms, food, water because Democrats vowed to throw them at Senators to disrupt voting. Childish
