Rove uses Twitter to confirm appearance on Family Guy
Former top Bush adviser Karl Rove and conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh will make guest appearances on Fox’s popular animated series “Family Guy” next season.
Rove confirmed his appearance on Twitter today, saying “Yes, it’s true. Will be a guest on the Family Guy next season.”
The show, which frequently criticizes conservatives, decided to give the two Republicans some airtime.
“‘Family Guy’ tends to be very liberal because it’s written by liberals,” creator Seth MacFarlane told the Hollywood Reporter. “So we thought let’s give the other side some face time. So we put it out there to a lot of Republicans – ‘we’re doing this show, who wants in?’ – and we got some bites. I’m sure a lot of the reaction is going to be ‘you monsters, how could you have Karl Rove on your show?'”
The episode’s premise is that Brian, a liberal talking dog that belongs to the show’s subject Griffin family, becomes bored because he can’t complain about politics with President Barack Obama serving in the White House.
Brian decides to become a Republican and start listening to Limbaugh’s show.
