President Obama appeared at an Organizing for America healthcare strategy session today at the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington. The format was similar to a town hall, with several high-profile Democrats as well as liberal activists participating.
OFA staffers live-tweeted the event, during which the president took few, if any, hard questions. Here are the tweets from the event:
Pres. Obama: “We should be proud of what we’ve accomplished, but we’re not satisfied. We’ve got more work to do.” #hc09
Pres. Obama: “One of the options we want to provide…is a public option.” #hc09
Pres. Obama: “I want everybody to remember that this has never been easy.” #hc09
Pres. Obama: “We’re going to have a lot of work to do. I’m grateful that you’re willing to do it.” #hc09
Pres. Obama: “Health care… is subject to a lot of misinformation. That’s why your work is so important” #hc09
“We are not going to give up now. We are going to get this done, and show the American people that govt can work for them.” #hc09
It’s too bad @BarackObama didn’t tweet when Obama said “there’s something about August going into September where everyone in Washington gets all ‘wee-weed’ up.”
