Christie’s sarcastic Twitter defense

New Jersey Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie is pushing back against charges surrounding a traffic stop in 2005.

Reports surfaced yesterday that Christie was stopped for driving an unregistered and unininsured car a few years back. Christie apparently identified himself as a U.S. Attorney during the stop, leading to charges that he may have been trying to use his position to get out of trouble.

But Christie’s campaign made light of the incident in a recent tweet:

Follow the link to see a sarcastic, tongue-in-cheek news report from the Christie campaign:

According to high-level sources within the Christie campaign, Chris borrowed 50 cents from a schoolmate in 3rd grade and has yet to return the money. Christie announced he will repay the debt plus $13.68 in accumulated interest.

Stay tuned for additional Breaking News Alerts, either straight from the source or from the latest absurd Corzine campaign attack.
