Grassley taking healthcare advice from…Perot?
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is finding inspiration in the debate over healthcare reform from an unexpected source: Former Reform Party candidate for president Ross Perot.
Grassley, the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee negotiating healthcare reform, explained the committee’s delay in crafting a bill, crediting Perot, the Texas billionaire who waged an independent bid for the White House in 1992 and 1996.
Grassley tweeted Saturday:
Do u wonder why finance comm takin so long write health bill. I follow Ross Perot advice “Measure twice. Cut once”
