Appointments
• Donald Koran was nominated for ambassador to the Republic of Rwanda. Koran is director of the Office of Africa Analysis at the State Department and is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Prior assignments include division chief for Western and Southern Africa in the Bureau of Intelligence and Research, deputy chief of mission for Niger and deputy chief of mission for Rwanda.
{mosads}• The president has nominated Geeta Pasi to be the ambassador to the Republic of Djibouti. Pasi, a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, is the director of East African affairs in the Africa Bureau at the State Department. Prior to that, Pasi completed three years as the chief of mission at Embassy Dhaka. She also served as the political and economic officer at U.S. Consulate Douala.
• Judge Sharon
Gleason was nominated to the U.S. District Court for the District of Alaska. Gleason works as the presiding judge of the 3rd Judicial District of the Alaska Superior Court in Anchorage. Gleason is in her 10th year as a member of the Superior Court and graduated with a J.D. from UC Davis Law.
• The president nominated Judge Susan Owens Hickey for the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. Hickey is a circuit judge for the 13 Judicial Circuit for the State of Arkansas. She received her J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law.
• The president nominated Alan Estevez to be an assistant secretary of Defense, withdrawing his earlier nomination to be assistant secretary of Defense for logistics and material readiness. Estevez is serving as the principal deputy assistant secretary of defense for logistics and material readiness.
