Under Contract

• The Federal Emergency Management Agency modified a task order June 3 in an existing contract with Verizon Federal Inc. The contract requires the company “to provide and deliver wireless services and equipment … within and outside the continental United States.” The modification is worth almost $7 million.

• The National Science Foundation on June 3 signed an almost $18.4 million funding modification for the Consortium for Ocean Leadership Inc.’s existing contract. The foundation provided incremental and additional funding as part of the Integrated Ocean Drilling Program, which is backed by 24 countries. The program “monitor[s], drill[s], sampl[es] and analyz[es] subseafloor environments.” The contract was signed in September 2003 and expires in September 2013. It is worth $626.2 million.

{mosads}• The Navy on June 13 awarded Boeing Co. a maximum of almost $409 million modification to an existing contact. Boeing’s contract is for “full-rate production and delivery” of nine 2011 F/A-18E aircrafts. The project should be completed in December 2013.

• Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control won a $438 million contract with the Army on June 14. The company will build 767 Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System Full Rate Production VI unitary pods and 508 reduced-range practice rockets and provide integrated logistics support and other services. The contract should be completed by the end of April 2014, with work occurring in Texas, Arizona and Florida. 

• The U.S. Special Operations Command on June 15 awarded $362 million contracts to L-3 Stratis, General Dynamics Information Technology, Science Applications International Corp. and Arma Global Corp. Much of the work will be completed in Florida. These businesses will help “to facilitate [special operations’] ongoing ability to effectively and efficiently optimize delivery and performance of specialty services to sustain and maintain [special operations’] global enterprise information technology specialty services environment.” The performance contract period ends in five years.
