Under contract

• Welch Allyn Inc. received a second option year modification on June 20 to an almost $44 million ceiling price contract with the Defense Logistics Agency. Welch Allyn currently provides “patient monitoring systems, subsystems, accessories, consumables, spare/repair parts and training.” The agency contracts these services for the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force and certain bureaus. The agreement is set to end in June 2012. 

{mosads}• The Air Force awarded a $19 million contract on June 21 to Booz Allen Hamilton for research development and reports on the intelligence operations. Booz Allen will build up, assess and deploy “tools” for the Air Force Research Laboratory Intelligence Data Handling and Understanding Division. The Air Force will also receive specific analyses, reports and recommendations through this contract.

• Lockheed Martin, Mission Systems and Sensors won a $758 million contract on June 20 with the Navy regarding hardware on Navy submarines. Lockheed Martin will design, produce, install and support two technical hardware insertions. These insertions will “provide a modular framework of processors and display computer resources consisting of consoles, card cages, high-resolution monitors, large-screen displays and associated peripherals.” The contract would allow submarines’ computer network systems to interact with local area networks. 

• The Army signed an almost $46 million contract on June 17 with Alliant Techsystems Inc. for renovation and production of equipment. Alliant will reconstruct “M4 selectable lightweight attack munitions (SLAM) to the new M4A1 configuration” and manufacture the “M320A1 SLAM improved functional trainer kits.” The company is expected to complete these services in June 2015.
