Under Contract

• Merlin International won a five-year blanket purchase agreement contract for the Health and Human Services Department’s Computer Security Incident Response Center, the company announced Sept. 13. The initial ceiling-value $40 million contract requires Merlin International to “protect HHS computer systems and information and provide expertise in security management and consulting across the department.” 

{mosads}•  Science Applications International Corp. is one of 15 companies to be awarded part of a maximum-value $12 billion contract from the Veterans Affairs Department, according to a Sept. 6 press release. The contract requires the corporation to “provide information technology … services in support of the Transformation Twenty-One Total Technology (T4) program.” The technology upgrade is intended to “improv[e] quality of healthcare and benefits services to veterans, their families and survivors.”

• The Marshall Space Flight Center on Aug. 31 issued an $85 million incremental funding modification to Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne. The contract was awarded initially on June 2, 2006, to “design, develo[p], test and evaluate the J-2X engine.” The contract’s ultimate completion date is Sept. 30, 2014, and is valued at approximately $1.5 billion.
