“It took a great opportunity and a great company to pull me away from the committee,” he wrote. “But it happened and I am very excited to join Bayer beginning Monday.”

His title is the director, operations government relations, he told The Hill in an email.

{mosads} Bayer did not respond to a request for comment.

He worked on the committee during the tenure of four Republican chairmen, according to the email.

“A lot of years, too many people to thank. Suffice it to say it has been an honor and privilege serving our country working for the Energy and Commerce Committee and the chairmen I served,” he said. “My sincerest thanks to Chairmen [Thomas] Bliley, [Billy] Tauzin, [Joe] Barton, and [Fred] Upton for that opportunity.”
