Chamber pleased with midterm election

With Republicans in control of Congress, top officials with the Chamber of Commerce said the nation is now on the path to free enterprise and prosperity.

In a blog post Friday, the Chamber touted that 14 of the 15 candidates it backed in primary, runoff or special elections had won, including Sens.- elect Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) and Thom Tillis (R-N.C.).

{mosads}The Chamber credits its push early on to pick candidates to support and for using high-profile lawmakers like 2012 GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney, Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) and even retired NFL quarterback Brett Favre, to spread the Chamber’s message.

“The American people have an undeniable desire for real change and real leadership,” the Chamber said. “They’ve waited long enough, and they’re demanding a true economic recovery with more growth, more jobs, and higher incomes.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce wants to expand the production of domestic energy, take up immigration reform legislation and promote free trade in an aggressive policy agenda.
