Van Scoyoc Associates has been hired by Austin Peay State University, based in Clarksville, Tenn., to lobby on “education and economic initiatives,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Kevin Kelly, former chief clerk and majority staff director for the Senate Veterans’ Affairs/Housing and Urban Development Appropriations subcommittee, and Tom Quinn, legislative director for Rep. Pete Visclosky (D-Ind.), are lobbying for the school.
• GAMING. Red Maple Consulting has been hired by the National Indian Gaming Association to lobby on “legislation and regulations related to gaming by Indian tribes,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Pete Kirkham, former chief of staff to Rep. Tom Cole (R-Okla.), is lobbying for the trade group.

Nixon Peabody has been hired by Preservation Development Partners, a housing developer based in New York City, to lobby on “HUD Rental Assistance Demonstration program issues,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Douglas Dziak, former legislative director and chief counsel to ex-Sen. George Voinovich (R-Ohio), and former Rep. Tom Reynolds (R-N.Y.) are lobbying for the company.
• INSURANCE. Drinker Biddle & Reath has been hired by TT Club Mutual Insurance Co. Ltd. to lobby on “flood insurance and reinsurance; terrorism insurance; swaps; property and casualty insurance and reinsurance oversight by FIO,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Jodie Curtis, former deputy chief of staff to then-Rep. Tom Barrett (D-Wis.), and Ilisa Halpern Paul, a former staff assistant to Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), are lobbying for the insurer.
TECHNOLOGY. NormInc has been hired by LightSquared to “expand access to broadband technology by supporting efforts of LightSquared to use spectrum regulated by the federal government,” according to lobbying disclosure records. Former Sen. Norm Coleman (R-Minn.) is lobbying for the company.
TRADE. Squire Sanders Public Advocacy has been hired by the Northern California Glass Management Association to lobby on “trade remedy scope proceedings,” according to lobbying disclosure records. David Spooner, a former assistant secretary at the Commerce Department during the George W. Bush administration, is lobbying for the trade group.
