Under Contract

• The Army has awarded a contract worth $1.4 million to Cubic Simulated Systems for tactical arms training for the Israeli Defense Ministry. 

The award notice does not say where the work will be performed, but the contract comes from the Army’s Program Executive Office of Simulation, Training and Instrumentation in Orlando, Fla.

{mosads}The high-precision sharpshooting training includes the use of 60 M4s, M203s, M240 machine guns, M2 machine guns and MK-19s. The Cubic Simulated System website says the training covers marksmanship abilities, squad training and “judgmental use of force,” such as “shoot-don’t-shoot scenarios.” 

The Army has opted for the “Plus” training, which adds on training “that helps small units gain tactical skills and experience involving conventional and unconventional threats.”

• The Office of Personnel Management has awarded a contract worth nearly $30,000 to Artline Wholesalers for 135 frames for the annual Presidential Rank Awards, which reward “high-performing senior career employees.”

“Recipients of this prestigious award are strong leaders, professionals and scientists who achieve results and consistently demonstrate strength, integrity, industry and a relentless commitment to excellence in public service,” according to the Office of Personnel Management’s website. The awards began in 1978, when the Senior Executive Service was established.

There are two categories for the award: distinguished and meritorious. Individuals are nominated by their agency heads, evaluated by panels of private-sector citizens and then approved by the president. In 2012, the president gave out 54 distinguished-level awards and 132 meritorious-level executive awards.

• The Defense Logistics Agency has awarded Air Wilmington Inc. a contract worth a minimum of $9.4 million for jet fuel for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian agencies in North Carolina. The contract with the Wilmington, N.C., small business ends in 2017.

• The Air Force has awarded Florida-based Merlin RAMCo Inc. a $10.8 million contract to provide personnel support to the Royal Saudi Air Force. It will take place in various Saudi air force bases across the country and will be completed by Aug. 21, 2014.
