As Congress tries again to craft a national energy bill, K Street and corporate energy lobbyists are dusting off position papers and flow charts and beating a well-worn path to Capitol Hill. The House Energy and Commerce Committee debated the issue again this week, although a markup might be delayed by the death of Pope John Paul II.

A scheduled House Resources Committee markup on the areas of energy policy it has jurisdiction over was delayed.
