Land O’ Lakes hired Mercury Public Affairs to lobby on the farm bill and spending issues, according to Senate lobbying records.
•ALCOHOL. Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough is lobbying for Pernod Ricard, a wine and spirits company, on copyright and trademark issues. Former Rep. Butler Derrick (D-S.C.) is among the lobbyists listed on the registration.
{mosads}•AUTOS. The Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers hired McBee Strategic Consulting to lobby on issues related to the automobile industry, according to the Senate lobbying registration.
•ENERGY. NRG Energy hired former Rep. Max Sandlin (D-Texas) of Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations to lobby on its behalf.
•HEALTHCARE. The Nueva Vista Group is representing the Alliance for Care at the End of Life on Medicare reimbursement issues, according to the lobbying registration.
•HIGH TECH. Monument Policy Group is lobbying for Electronic Data Systems Corp. on Homeland Security Department “procurement issues,” according to lobbying records.
•MEDIA. The Podesta Group is lobbying for National Public Radio on budget and copyright issues, according to lobbying records.
•NATURAL RESOURCES. The Central Basin Municipal Water District hired the C2 Group to lobby on budget and resources issues.
•OIL & GAS. Sunoco hired the Podesta Group to lobby on “tax policy and energy issues,” according to the Senate lobbying registration. Paul Brathwaite, a former executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus who is now at Podesta, is lobbying for Sunoco.
Oil refiner Valero hired the Alpine Group to lobby on “transactions involving the company’s domestic refining assets,” according to the lobbying registration.
•TELECOMMUNICATIONS. Motorola has hired the Washington Group to lobby on its behalf. The U.S. Telecom Association has hired Clyburn Consulting to lobby on a variety of telecommunications issues.
•TOBACCO. The Podesta Group is lobbying for the Dosal Tobacco Company, which describes itself as a small independent tobacco manufacturer.
