Clean Coal Solutions hired Capitol Tax Partners to lobby for tax incentives for the development of clean coal technologies. The lobbying team includes William McKenney, former Ways and Means staff aide, and Joseph Mikrut, a former tax legislative counsel at the Treasury Department.

•HEALTHCARE. Blackwell Sanders Peper Martin is lobbying for CPS Healthcare, an information technology company, on the potential application of “e-health technology” to healthcare services at several federal agencies, according to lobbying documents.

The Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons has hired Alston & Bird to lobby on physician payment policies, according to Senate lobbying records.

•INDIAN TRIBES. DC Navigators is lobbying for the Pala Band of Mission Indians. The lobbying team includes John Tashuda, a former staff director on the Senate Indian Affairs Committee, Senate lobbying records show.

•PHARMACEUTICALS. MWW Group is lobbying for Bayer, the drug company, on tax and immigration issues, according to Senate lobbying records.

•TECHNOLOGY. Oracle Corp. has hired Barbour Griffith & Rogers to lobby on a variety of topics, including: immigration, intellectual property, taxes and trade, according to Senate lobbying records. The lobbying team includes Robert Blackwill, a former ambassador to India, and Walker Roberts, a former deputy staff director to the House Committee on International Relations.

•TRANSPORTATION. The American Bureau of Shipping hired Winston & Strawn to lobby on “Coast Guard authorization” legislation, according to Senate lobbying records. Thomas Mills and Constantine Papavizas of Winston & Strawn are lobbying for the shipping group.

•UNIVERSITIES. Cassidy & Associates is lobbying for the University of Wyoming on “carbon sequestration, energy research [and] clean coal technology funding,” according to Senate lobbying records.
