Fix the Debt aide joins hotel trade group
Sinders will oversee the association’s advocacy program on Capitol Hill and seek to expand the group’s grassroots efforts and its political action committee, HotelPAC.
{mosads}“At a time when the lodging industry is facing a growing number of legislative and regulatory initiatives that are impacting the bottom lines of hoteliers, [Sinders’s] vast policy and political experience and proven ability to work in a collaborative manner to drive results are of tremendous value. She will be an outstanding addition to our team, and our members will immediately begin to reap the benefits of her extensive congressional, campaign, and political experience as she takes the association’s advocacy program to the next level,” Katherine Lugar, AH&LA’s president and CEO, said in a statement.
Before working at Fix the Debt, Sinders was chief of staff for former Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.) and a policy director for ex-Sen. Judd Gregg (R-N.H.).
Lugar took the reins at AH&LA in April this year and has said that she wanted the trade group to be more aggressive in its lobbying and advocacy.
AH&LA has spent more than $600,000 on lobbying so far this year, according to lobbying disclosure records.
